Description

A stack-based buffer overflow was found in the Linux kernel, version kernel-2.6.32, in Marvell WiFi chip driver. An attacker is able to cause a denial of service (system crash) or, possibly execute arbitrary code, when a STA works in IBSS mode (allows connecting stations together without the use of an AP) and connects to another STA.

Affected configurations

• linux linux kernel (>= 2.6.32 < 3.16.83) • linux linux kernel (>= 3.17 < 4.4.212) • linux linux kernel (>= 4.5 < 4.9.212) • linux linux kernel (>= 4.10 < 4.14.169) • linux linux kernel (>= 4.15 < 4.19.100) • linux linux kernel (>= 4.20 < 5.4.16) • debian debian linux 8.0 • canonical ubuntu linux 14.04 • canonical ubuntu linux 16.04 • canonical ubuntu linux 18.04 • canonical ubuntu linux 19.10
